Classroom Assessment Workshops

This workshop revisits the importance and impact of classroom assessment on multilingual learners and their teachers, focusing on the roles of language and culture. Through case studies and discussions, educators will gain research-backed strategies to align assessment with multilingual strengths, moving beyond English-only
measures.

Through analysis, and cooperative activities, participants will:

  • Apply research-backed strategies to design and implement multilingual assessments that align with instruction
  • Evaluate practical tools to support a shift away from monolingual testing and advocate for different approaches
