Join us for the next CARE Coaching Summer Seminar in Detroit

The CARE Coaching Summer Seminar brings together educators from across the U.S. and highlights our collective commitment to advancing equity and success for multilingual learners. From supporting newcomers and addressing the unique needs of long-term English learners to integrating language development with content learning, each day’s agenda will focus on practical and actionable strategies for impactful teaching.

Our week together concludes with learning how to empower students through formative assessments, foster independence and growth. Together, these sessions aim to build capacity and inspire transformative educational practices that create greater learning opportunities for our students.

  • Date: June 16-19, 2025
  • Opening: 8:00 – 8:30am Coffee and Muffins 
  • Session Times: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Lunch will be provided) 
  • Location: 4420 Livernois, Troy, MI 48098
  • Seminar Fee: $450/day for 1-3 days, no credit
    $2,000 for all 4 days (includes credit)
  • Credit: Attendees can earn 1 University credit or 1.5 CEUs available if attending all 4 days

Yvonne Williams serves as the Director of Multilingual Learner Educator Engagement at WCEPS, where she leads a team of 35 coaches supporting schools nationwide in implementing programs that foster success for all students, with a special emphasis on multilingual learners. With over 29 years of experience in education, Yvonne has worked with students from kindergarten through high school and specializes in empowering educators with practical strategies to create inclusive learning environments. Her work focuses on collaboration with schools and districts to meet their unique goals, ensuring sustainable and impactful professional growth for teachers.

An immigrant from Chihuahua, Mexico, and a former English language learner, Yvonne brings a deeply personal perspective to her work. She holds a master’s degree in Bilingual Education and is a first-generation college graduate. A dynamic presenter, Yvonne is passionate about helping educators recognize and leverage multilingual students’ cultural and linguistic assets while enhancing educational experiences for all learners.
