Empowering Newcomers for Academic Success Workshops


This workshop equips educators with practical strategies to support newcomers in academic classrooms. Participants will:

  • Explore elements of effective scaffolding
  • Learn to make grade-level content accessible
  • Develop tailored language supports
  • Leverage students’ strengths, interests and preferences

Through collaborative activities and real-world scenarios, participants will design scaffolded lessons that integrate content and language learning while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for newcomers.
